Reiki Healing

Energy work that meets the body where it is.

Not a belief system. Not a performance. A real practice with real effects, offered in your service.

The work

What this actually is.

Reiki is a Japanese practice of channeling energy to support the body’s own intelligence in returning to balance. It is not a religion, not a belief system, and not something you have to understand for it to work. The energy moves whether you believe in it or not, the way sunlight warms whether you believe in sunlight or not.

People come to me for Reiki when their body is carrying something that talk therapy and willpower have not been able to reach. Chronic tension that has lived in the same place for years. Anxiety that the mind cannot reason its way out of. Grief, illness, recovery, exhaustion. The states that live in the body, not just the head.

A Reiki Master is someone who has been formally attuned to channel the energy at the deepest level the tradition recognizes. I have done the training, sat through the attunements, and practiced for years. The session is not a guessing game and it is not a performance. It is the gift, used well, in your service.

People complicate it. It is simpler than they have been told.

If you are skeptical

That is also welcome here.

You should be skeptical. There is a lot of bad energy work out there and being wary protects you from it. I would rather meet a careful skeptic than someone who arrives ready to feel anything just to have an experience.

Reiki does not require you to believe in it for it to work. The most striking experiences I have facilitated have been with people who arrived skeptical and left re-evaluating what they thought they knew about their own body. You do not have to perform openness. You do not have to relax on command. You just have to lie down and be in your body for an hour. Your body will do what your body does.

A word on remote Reiki

Yes, it works at a distance.

Reiki sessions are held remotely by Zoom. You lie down in your own space, comfortable, undisturbed. I work from mine. The energy is not bound by physical proximity, in the same way that the people we love do not become quieter when they are far away. The transmission is the transmission.

If this sounds implausible, that is fine. The same body that registers a stranger’s gaze across a room registers what is being sent through a session. The body knows what is happening even when the mind has not caught up.

What to expect

The shape of a session.

A Reiki session is sixty minutes by Zoom. You lie down somewhere comfortable where you will not be interrupted — a bed, a couch, the floor with a blanket. Wear something soft. Have water nearby. You can leave the camera on or turn it off. Both are fine. I will guide a brief grounding at the start and then we begin.

During the session you may feel warmth, tingling, deep stillness, the body twitching as something releases, emotions surfacing, or sometimes nothing at all in the moment. All of these are normal. The work is happening regardless of what you consciously notice.

What often becomes clear is what shows up in the hours and days after. Better sleep that first night. A held breath you did not know you were holding. An old grief that finally moves. A symptom that quiets. Let it land at its own pace. You do not need to do anything with it.

If your body has been carrying something,

we can begin to set it down.
